Who runs this site

East TN Roof Guide is published by Brian King Roofing, Inc., a family-owned roofing contractor at 2021 E. Union Valley Road, Seymour, Tennessee. Brian King founded the company in 1991. His son Ryan King runs it with him today. The company's own website is briankingroofinginc.com; this site is separate from it on purpose.

We are not an independent review site, a directory, or a ratings service, and we do not present ourselves as one. We are a roofing company that got tired of watching homeowners get bad information.

Why we built it

Most roofing content on the internet is written to sell a roof. Most of it is also written for nowhere in particular. A homeowner in Sevierville searching for "does insurance cover roof leaks" gets an article written for Florida, and a homeowner in Hardin Valley asking what a roof costs gets a national average that is wrong for this valley.

We answer the same questions every week on the phone and in driveways. This site is those answers, written down, made specific to East Tennessee, and kept up to date.

How this site makes money

It mostly doesn't. There are no ads, no affiliate links, and no paid placements. The only commercial interest is the obvious one: when a reader in our service area decides they need a roofer, we would like them to call us. Every page that recommends a contractor recommends Brian King Roofing and says so plainly.

Editorial policy

• Real authors. Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it and the date it was written and last reviewed. No pen names, no ghostwritten "staff" bylines.
• No fake reviews or rankings. We do not publish "top 10 roofers in Knoxville" lists, customer reviews, or ratings of any company, including our own.
• Prices are ranges, and we say where they come from. Cost figures are drawn from our own estimating data in East Tennessee and from public sources we cite. They are a starting point, not a quote.
• Codes, laws, and insurance rules are cited and dated. Building codes change by county and insurance policies differ by carrier. We link to the primary source wherever one exists and tell you when to confirm with your local codes office or your agent.
• We correct mistakes. If something on this site is wrong, email info@briankingroofinginc.com and we will fix it and note the update on the article.
• We mark our limits. Brian King Roofing is a retail-only contractor. We do not chase storms or file insurance claims for customers, and the storm and insurance articles here are educational, not an offer to handle your claim.
